Description:

A two-day thematic workshop offered in cooperation with the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University; hosted by the Belgian Ministry of Defense and the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War.


In partnership with:

HPCR International is an independent non-profit organization based in Brussels with activities around the world. Their work is aimed at developing innovative approaches and strategic policy tools to address complex security challenges, particularly in situations of armed conflict.


The aim of the Society is to study and spread military law and international humanitarian law. To that end, the Society regularly organises congresses and seminars internationally. Also under the patronnage of the Society, a specialized review is published, the "Review for Military Law and the Law of War".


The Ministry of Defence is the Belgian ministry responsible for national defence and the Belgian military. It is the sole remaining ministry of the Federal Government. The Ministry of Defence is responsible to the Minister of Defence, Pieter de Crem (CD&V).
