Description:

This event was designed to create a space for professional dialogue on IHL for government officials, policy-makers, and practitioners in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. The training combined a policy debate on key challenges to the implementation of IHL with discussion of concrete operational considerations, as well as training and instruction in IHL. The specific objective of the training was to promote discussion of the implementation of IHL in current conflicts by developing a constituency of interested parties, stimulating interest and knowledge among practitioners from different countries, and by providing a forum for the exchange of views and information among experienced professionals.
